The case for mid-tier silver producers

I’ve often said that investors need to see more mining companies generating revenue across mineral commodities. Large producers are essential for stable supply, but in my view, the mid-tier space plays a key role in giving generalist investors meaningful exposure, as pure exploration stories tend to be off-limits for most.

I’ve been keen on this part of the market for quite a while, and specifically on silver since the late 2000s.

For clarity, when I refer to mid-tier silver producers, I mean publicly traded precious metals mining companies that typically produce between 3 and 20 million ounces of silver annually, with most of their revenue coming from silver and gold.

As industrial uses for silver climb to record highs, exposure to strong miners matters. For that reason, we chose 10 peers to analyse in this production range, allowing some flexibility across jurisdictions that are relevant to the metal.

In this note, we chose 10 peers to analyse within this production range, allowing some flexibility, across jurisdictions relevant to the metal.
